What’s coming
RepLog Roadmap
RepLog started with the core loop: log sessions, track goals, measure BPM progress. The foundation is solid. This is where it goes next.
Small, focused increments. No half-finished features. Every item below gets full attention before moving on.
Core practice loop
The foundation: start a session, pick what you’re working on, log it. Sessions and segments tracked automatically, attributed to specific goals. End a session and you have a full record of where your time went.
Goals & BPM progress
Create goals for songs, scales, or any technique. Set a target BPM. After each segment, log your current BPM and completion percentage. RepLog calculates progress automatically and shows it on every goal card.
Metronome & tuner
A full-featured metronome built right into the practice view — tap tempo, all common time signatures, volume control, beat indicator. Plus a chromatic tuner using mic-based pitch detection for any instrument.
Dashboard
A top-level view of your practice. Total time this week, recent sessions with goals and durations, active goals with real progress percentages. Know whether you’re moving forward or coasting.
Analytics, Media & Visual Theory
Our major release: full daily practice streaks, detailed history charts, session durations, and goal breakdowns. Plus standard high-performance video/audio session recording with automated thumbnails, and built-in interactive music theory references (chords, fretboards, keyboard scales, and Circle of Fifths).
Sync — iCloud Drive & Dropbox
Your practice data follows you. RepLog supports syncing the local SQLite database via iCloud Drive and Dropbox, keeping multiple Macs in sync automatically. This also lays the groundwork for a companion mobile app so your history, goals, and progress are available wherever you practice.
Translations
Localizing RepLog to support musicians worldwide. We are adding localization for multiple languages — including Spanish, French, German, and Italian — covering the entire user interface, music theory references, and built-in tools.
Multi-instrument organization
Separate your goals, practice history, and dashboard metrics by instrument (e.g. Piano, Flute, Saxophone) to keep your analytics clean and organized if you play more than one instrument.
iOS & iPadOS companion apps
A native mobile companion app to log your practice sessions, run the metronome, and check your targets directly from your phone or tablet on the music stand.
Practice reminders
Optional macOS notifications to nudge you when you haven’t practiced in a while. No streak anxiety, no guilt-tripping — just a quiet reminder that your guitar is waiting.
